Orphans’ New Site

Orphans Overseas has created a new blog for the families interested in Vietnam. They provide some great information, including the reason for the 4 month waiting period, some changes made in the program, and some links on the side for great adoption sites.
Feel free to check it out at Adoption Buzz.

A Cause For Celebration!

Earlier this week Patrick and I received in the mail the last packet that Orphans Overseas plans to send us regarding our dossier. We are required to fill out a couple more forms that are pretty simple and we need one last medical exam. We were thrilled to see it in the mail because that meant that Orphans Overseas not only received our home study in the mail, but also read it and approved us. We were reluctant to start working on the paperwork, knowing that rushing wouldn’t make a difference since we have to wait for our CIS (US Citizenship and Immigration Services) approval before anything can be done. Well, the waiting has finally come to an end…

Today as Patrick came bounding in the door with a huge smile on his face I knew it meant one thing…we finally got the long-awaited approval! My heart has feared the worst, thinking we would be waiting for this moment forever…considering the office is in Metairie, LA and is a bit behind. But Praise God it finally came!

Knowing our jumpiness, I am sure we will have all the paperwork and medical exams complete by the middle of next week and sent off by the end. That is what I am hoping for. After that, Orphans will let us know what will come next. The next part consists of them sending off the paperwork to get ready to be sent overseas. So it may be a couple more weeks before it finally goes to Vietnam. However, I feel the end is more in sight. Of course the goal consists of having a little baby girl in our arms, and a baby sister for loving David to (hopefully) enjoy.
