On To Bigger Things

Patrick and I have finally completed the dossier. We had to get police clearance, another medical report, and meticulously fill out the paperwork Orphans Overseas provided (from the Vietnamese Government).

It seemed like everywhere we turned something wrong happened during the process. We filled out some of the documents wrong, so we had to request new ones. The doctor’s office couldn’t seem to get our paperwork correct either and so I had to travel back to their office a couple times to work it out. Cindy, our social worker, said she has to check with the social worker at her office just to make sure the notary’s seal on the police clearance is clear enough for the government’s requirements. It felt like we were being attacked at every angle. Does that again verify that we ARE doing what God desires?

Our paperwork has now been reviewed by Orphans. If they do not find any changes that need to be made, then they will be mailing out certain parts of the dossier to appropriate states (MS, LA, TX) for authentication. Once that is complete it will then be sent on to CA for translation at the Consulate. Total time should be about 5 weeks that we have to wait before the documents are all sent overseas to Vietnam. Cindy said they would update us along the way to know how things are progressing.

I will be keeping the blog updated with any new information if I receive any. Don’t forget to check out Orphans site adoptionbuzz.org for new information on Vietnam or the adoption process.
